Carbs at Night

“Q: Is it true that it’s bad to eat carbs at night?”

[Read on]

hmmm not sure about the answer given here.  Yes, most of what said is true, but I feel as though it is a little misleading.  Maybe I have just misinterpreted the answer.  Therefore, let me submit this to you with some hypothetical figures:

Day E Input: 6600kJ

Night E Input: 2000kJ – no energy from Carbs
Total:  8600kJ

Total daily E output: 7000kJ

According to the figures, over time you will put weight on because your overall daily output is less than your input.  So I have easily shown that the energy input type at night is not a factor in putting on weight, it is the amount of energy given to the body as opposed to what is expended over the whole day.
I focused on this article because I have noticed a negative focus on carbs since the Atkins diet popularity increase.  Carbs are not bad, what needs to be avoided is eating the same thing in vast proportions everyday.  Or, starving the body during the day and binge eating at night.  A well balanced diet is the way to go.
