Snorkeling can be so much fun. You don’t need much, just a good mask, snorkel and some fins. A good mask is really important if you want to have an enjoyable time. Stopping all the time to remove water from your mask can be annoying. Ensure your snorkel has a purge valve and if you are not sure what this is make sure you ask someone. I find the cheaper fins are better. I spent about $200 on fins and $100 on booties and they are annoying for snorkeling but perfect for SCUBA. It is heaps of fun snorkeling with friends because you can experience the wonderful sites underwater together…also, it is safer.
