What Is The Atkins Diet?

Am I going to be controversial with this one?

Being a fitness leader, people come to me for fitness and nutritional advice everyday. The Atkins diet would be the one fad diet (and yes, it is a fad diet) that has had the most impact on me. I have had gym clients not eating carrots because they tell me carrots have too much sugar…CARROTS!!!! What can I say to that?

Other macronutrients we, as humans, use as energy are: Protein and Alcohol. This must also be taken into account.

The answer is simple really: Energy in = Energy out ie if you eat too much high energy food you will gain weight, regardless what diet you are on! And besides, there is only so much whipped cream a person can have (hehehe). Finally, for all the thinkers out there, your brain is limited to glucose for energy, which is a carbohydrate…if you remove this energy source, concentrating may be a thing of the past.
