beti comments > I do agree that stretching is important, but I am a little concerned with AIS being used on the general population without professional guidance. And there is no mention of warming up the body before stretching in this article…or have I missed it? Please let me know if I have missed it.

    I have always used proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNS) stretching; however, PNS usually requires assistance. I will certainly give your (AI) stretching a try.

    I haven’t done a lot of research in this area, but I have seen that AIS is used a lot on athletes and not on the general population. To be quite honest I am still skeptical about the whole AIS thing.
